Brian Carter |
Director
A family man at heart, Brian Carter is a born and bred Whakatāne local and a legal professional with decades of experience under his belt.
Brian is the go-to expert for all aspects of Rural and Commercial Property Law. He offers encyclopaedic knowledge of matters regarding Trusts, Wills and Estates, and Residential Property and Bank Lending.
Schooled at James Street School, Whakatāne Intermediate, Whakatāne High and Rotorua Lakes High School, Brian completed his law degree at Otago University, returning to his hometown in 1987 to commence practice at Hamertons.
With his partner of 35 years Linda, Brian has two children, Caitlin and Josh; Casey the Labrador is considered part of the family, too.
When the working day is done, Brian’s passions include wetland conservancy, where he is a regular figure involved in enhancement and maintenance projects in the Eastern Bay of Plenty (he’s contributed 6 years as a member of the Eastern Fish and Game Council). Outdoor interests extend to whitebaiting, hunting and fishing and Brian’s been known to produce some top crops in his vegetable garden, too.
With his keen eye for detail, it should come as no surprise that Brian excels at competitive target shooting. He’s represented New Zealand at three World Championships, two Commonwealth Games and has won the New Zealand Champion title three times.
