With a passion for working with people, there’s good reason why Angela Kershaw heads up our Family and Estates team. She’s a deft operator who brings compassion and care to sorting out separations, dividing assets, establishing optimal familial arrangements and supporting families in times of crisis.
Angela completed her schooling before completing her legal studies at the University of Waikato, with admission to the Golden Key Honours Society. She brings an international flavour to the firm; not only a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, Angela is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
An Approved Mental Health Lawyer, Angela is a Member of the New Zealand Law Society Panel of Mediators (as a Family Specialist), a Mediator providing Family Dispute Resolution Services (FDR), a Regional Representative for the Family Law Section and a Member of the Local Family Justice Sector Network. Angela regularly receives appointments from the Court as Lawyer for Child, Lawyer for Subject Person, and Counsel to assist the Court.
If things get particularly difficult Angela is an experienced and well-regarded litigator, regularly appearing in the Family Court, and with High Court and Appellant experience both in New Zealand and England. She has a particular interest in complex relationship property litigation involving companies and Trusts and in claims against deceased Estates.
As an enthusiastic mother of three crazy and beautiful children with her husband Mike, her passion for people is home grown from her busy Ōhope Beach residence.
Angela can assist you with:
