Steve Franklin
After growing up in Hamilton and obtaining degrees in both Law and Social Sciences at Waikato University, Steve moved to Whakatane and commenced practise with Hamertons in 2002. He has been a partner of the firm since May 2005.
Steve is presently the head of the Hamertons Litigation team. Although litigation work is now his primary focus, Steve still has a diverse practice in both property and commercial and litigation spheres of the law. Steve is equally comfortable assisting you with the sale or purchase of your business or property as he is in the District Court or Employment Law Forums. Steve has assisted clients throughout New Zealand in complex litigation and Employment law matters as well as having had broad Property and Commercial law experience over several years.
Steve’s areas of expertise are Criminal Law, Employment Law, Relationship Property, Property Law, Commercial Law, Asset Protection, Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Steve really can assist you in any or all of the areas.
Steve is actively involved in the legal profession at the District Law Society level as a member of the Employment Law Committee. Steve is also a member of the Criminal Bar Association of New Zealand. Steve is involved in the local community as the Chairperson for Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty, a member of the Board of the Ohope Chartered Club Inc, and a passionate organiser of the successful annual Hamertons Whakatane Charity Fishing Tournament.
Even though Steve has lived in the Bay of Plenty for several years now we can't get him to let go of his passionate support of the Waikato Rugby Team. At least he supports the All Blacks!
