Genna grew up with her family in Taneatua, where she attended primary school, and later went on to Whakatane High School. From 2006 to 2009 Genna went to the University of Otago, graduating in December of 2009 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Genna has been with Hamertons since November 2009, where she began her legal career as a Law Clerk. While working at Hamertons Genna has completed her Professional Legal Studies course, and in October 2010 was admitted to the Bar at the Rotorua High Court.
Since starting at Hamertons, Genna has primarily worked within the Estate Administration and Property Law areas. She has also worked in Maori Land Law and Family Law.
Outside of work Genna is a keen sports person. She is a member of the Taneatua Squash Rackets Club, Waiohau Womens Hockey Club and the Whakatane Surf Life Saving Club. Genna loves exercising and being outdoors, and also enjoys listening to music and playing the Guitar.
