Jude Wilson |
Director
For the past three decades, Jude Wilson has made the Eastern Bay of Plenty her home, choosing Whakatāne to raise her family and build a rewarding career in law.
After working in banking, retail and primary school teaching, Jude joined Hamertons in 2004 and soon realised that the law is where her heart lies. With four years as a legal executive working in property law, she took the big step of enrolling for a law degree, graduating in 2011. On her return to Hamertons, Jude started as a junior solicitor and is now a director of the firm.
Jude works primarily in property and commercial law, estate planning and elder law. She enjoys building relationships with her clients and working together to achieve their goals. The greatest advantage of working in a law firm which has served the Eastern Bay for almost a century, believes Jude, is the opportunity to know and work with multiple generations of the same families.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking the riverbank, taking in the beach and bush, reading and travelling in New Zealand and overseas. There is usually a trip in its planning stages, even if the departure date is some time away!
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Jude proudly serves her community in a voluntary capacity as the chair of the board of Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty, chair of the Vic Davis Memorial Trust, and a member of Whakatāne Rotary.
